About Dr. Knight

Dr. Rachel Knight earned her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a recognition of compassionate, patient-centered care. She completed her psychiatry residency and addiction psychiatry fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, one of the country's leading programs in the field, where she also served as chief resident. She is board-certified in both general and addiction psychiatry, and brings additional specialized expertise in perinatal mental health, holding a certification through Postpartum Support International that places her among a relatively small number of psychiatrists to combine that credential with full board certification in addiction psychiatry.

Her experience spans some of psychiatry's most acute and complex settings. After completing her training, she spent three years working in emergency psychiatry, and has since served as clinical director of a maternal mental health outpatient clinic. She has trained and supervised psychiatry residents at a major academic medical center, and has given community-level talks to broaden education around addiction and maternal mental health. Her scholarly work spans addiction psychiatry, perinatal mental health, peer support, emergency psychiatry, and family-centered approaches to substance use care.

Dr. Knight brings this depth of experience to her private telehealth practice, where she can offer the kind of focused, individual attention that first drew her to this work.
